Sam was born in Redmond, Washington, and grew up in the greater Kansas City area. In Law School, Sam became captivated by Colorado’s Rocky Mountains with picturesque landscapes. Sam was steadfastly determined to live in Colorado.
Sam attended law school at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Sam participated in the very competitive Jessup International Moot Court Competition, which provided Sam a significant advantage over his classmates as he gained a certain familiarity and comfort with the courtroom. Immediately after law school, Sam practiced law as an attorney for the State of Kansas, handling child support proceedings. Sam was a man about many towns, practicing in Leavenworth, Atchison, and Johnson Counties. Sam leapt at his first opportunity to practice in Colorado. Sam transferred his skillset to practice law as a Staff Attorney for the El Paso County Child Support Services handling child support and paternity cases throughout El Paso and Teller Counties. While Sam’s legal career was certainly rewarding as he worked for the good of the State of Colorado, Sam knew he had more to offer as a strong advocate. Sam sought to represent individual clients who found themselves navigating the difficult terrain of the legal landscape.
Sam transitioned into private law practice focusing his talents and advocacy in the areas of divorce litigation, adoption, and guardianship. Sam continues to be a strong advocate in child support and paternity matters, bringing his valuable insider knowledge for the benefit of his clients. Sam has represented a diverse range of clients with interestingly diverse backgrounds. No client and no case is the same, and Sam thrives with helping clients through seemingly impossible scenarios.
Despite Sam’s courtroom experience, Sam is equally committed to achieving resolutions by agreements, including representation at mediation and arbitration. Sam is a skilled negotiator and brings his own experience of remaining calm to even the most intense situations. Sam is a zealous advocate and resourceful strategist.
Sam is proud to call Colorado Springs home. He enjoys hiking, biking, and rock climbing. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Pikes Peak region, Sam volunteers at the Garden of the Gods and helps organize cleanup projects throughout the area.
